Brookland Sidewalk Chicken Wings

“Ain’t no thing, but a chicken wing.” —White Men Can’t Jump
Chicken wings aren’t unique to Brookland, let alone Washington DC. Hungry people throughout the world enjoy them in all kinds of ways: fried, baked, boiled, etc.
What is unique to Brookland are the sidewalk chicken wings.
Take a short stroll around the neighborhood and you’re sure to come across a couple piles. Usually they’re stripped of all that tender juicy meat, but sometimes you’ll find them half eaten, and occasionally along side a styrofoam container. In our combined years walking the planet, wife and hub never saw such a large concentration until we moved here.
So in the spirit of neighborhood pride, Brookland Backyard would like to invite all residents to share their favorite sidewalk chicken wing pictures and stories.
